Passenger Killed After Intoxicated Driver Rolls Jeep

 

MIDLAND, TX –– A rollover crash in Midland left a passenger dead shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Monday.

According to the Midland Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 5300 block of West Loop 250 for reports of a rollover crash.

When officers arrived at the scene, they learned Stefano Scarmana was driving a Jeep Gladiator eastbound on Loop 250 when he drove over a curb and struck the guardrail.

The impact caused the Gladiator to roll and come to a stop on its top. Scarmana's passenger, 57-year-old Angela Wrinkle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed Scarmana was intoxicated and he was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

After Scarmana was released from the hospital he was transported to the Midland County Jail and charged with intoxication manslaughter, a second-degree felony.
