WATCH: Driver Who Caused Bizarre Crash Flees Scene on Foot

SAN ANGELO, TX – One driver fled the crash scene on foot at the other left headed to the hospital following an unusual crash on 14th St. and N. Chadbourne St. Thursday morning.

According to the investigating officer from the San Angelo Police Department, a white minivan was northbound on Chadbourne while a black pickup was westbound on 14th St.

The driver of the minivan ran a red light and crashed into the back of the pickup.  The crash launched a black toolbox from the bed of the pickup into the windshield of the minivan.

The driver of the minivan drove into the Valdez Muffler Shop parking lot with the toolbox on the hood of the vehicle before coming to a stop.

Witnesses say the black pickup had the right of way.

The investigating officer said the driver of the minivan also fled the crash on foot and has not been located at this time.

A passenger in the minivan was transported to the hospital by ambulance with possible minor head injuries.  The driver of the pickup went to the hospital on his own.
