WATCH: Motorists Trapped & Injured in Serious Crash Near San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO – Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a serious crash Friday night just Southeast of San Angelo on U.S. 87 S. and Broadnax Rd.  

Communications reports indicate first responders were dispatched to a major crash with entrapment at the intersection just after 9 p.m. Friday night.  

Reports indicate two SUVs crashed at U.S. 87 and Broadnax with one SUV landing on its side.  Volunteers with the Wall Volunteer Fire Department and San Angelo EMS were dispatched and reports indicate people were trapped inside at least one of the vehicles.

Troopers on the scene were investigating the cause of the crash.  At least two ambulances were called to the scene and at least one person was confirmed to be transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.  

Traffic was blocked around the crash site on the busy highway while troopers investigated the cause and first responders cleared the scene.  

The cause of the crash and the numbers of injured and the extent of their injuries has not been released at this time.  

It is also not known if any citations have been issued or who was at fault for the crash.
