Police Confirm Crash on N. Chadbourne Destroyed Telephone Pole

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department confirmed Monday that the broken telephone pole on N. Chadbourne was a result of an early morning hit and run crash.

According to the SAPD Public Information Officer Richard Espinoza, on Aug. 29 at around 4 a.m., officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the 1600 block of N. Chadbourne for the report of a Line down.

Once on scene it was learned that a vehicle had crashed into a utility pole near the location and fled the scene. Officers contacted AEP to assist with the down line and pole damage.

The location was shut down for hours to allow AEP to work safely and to prevent motorists from running over a live power line.

No description of the hit and run vehicle was given at this time and it is unknown if it has been located yet.

If you have any information on the crash contact SAPD immediately.
