Bizarre Crash Leaves Two Women Injured Friday

SAN ANGELO, TX – Three people were injured during a bizarre crash in front of the Dollar Tree on 29th St. Friday morning.

According to SAPD officers who responded to the scene, the elderly driver of the silver Dodge Caliber presumably mistook the gas pedal for the brake and drove onto the sidewalk in front of the Metro by T-Mobile store.

The driver struck a Metro employee who was standing on the sidewalk and the building. The driver then veered right on the sidewalk and struck a pole and parked a white Dodge Caravan.

Watch video from the crash scene below:

The driver of the minivan was loading items into the back of the vehicle when the van was pushed forward by the Caliber, injuring the driver.

The driver of the Caliber and the Metro employee were transported to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Dodge Caravan was also injured but opted out of being transported to the hospital by ambulance.

At this time no citations have been issued.
