One Dead, Two Injured in Hwy 67 Crash

RANKIN, TX –– A crash involving an 18-wheeler left one person dead and two injured last Thursday.

According to the Department of Public Safety, 36-year-old Michael L. Zuniga was traveling east in a Chevrolet pickup on Highat 67.

Zuniga entered the westbound lane and crashed head-on with an 18-wheeler.

The impact of the crash resulted in the death of Zuniga at the scene, while the driver and passenger of the 18-wheel were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred seven miles west of Rankin at approximately 8:35 a.m. on July 8th.
