Drunk Driver Charged After Passenger Seriously Injured in Crash

 

ODESSA, TX – A 49-year-old man has been arrested after police say he injured his passenger after driving while intoxicated in April.

According to the Odessa Police Department, Lucio Flores-Lopez was driving a Buick Enclave on East IH-20.

The details of the accident have not been confirmed, but police confirmed an 18-wheeler was involved.

Both Flores-Lopez and his 17-year-old passenger were transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries. The teen was later transported to a Lubbock area hospital with serious injuries.

The subsequent investigation revealed  Flores-Lopez was speeding and over the legal limit for driving while intoxicated.

He was charged with Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
