SAN ANGELO, TX -- A lunchtime crash left one car upside down and a driver in jail after officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Shiloh St. for reports of a rollover crash.
According to Officer Welch, a black Chevy Cruze was traveling westbound in the far right lane on Shiloh St. When the driver attempted to merge onto Loop 306 he was distracted as he reached down to grab a cigarette.
The driver then made an evasion action in an effort to get onto the loop and ended up striking the barrier. The impact was strong enough to flip the car upside down.
According to SAPD, there were two passengers in the vehicle -- a female and an infant. No one was injured in the crash, but the infant was transported to Shannon Medical Center to be evaluated as a precautionary measure.
The driver was issued two citations, one for failure to control speed and one for having no license. The driver also had an outstanding parole warrant out of Austin and was arrested by SAPD.
