WATCH: Mail Truck Rolls and Catches on Fire in Icy Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX – Road conditions continue to decline in Northern Tom Green County Friday and many crashes are beginning to add up.

According to the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department, on Feb. 12 at approximately 10:42 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 7800 block of US HWY 87 N, between San Angelo and Grape Creek, for a report of a vehicle that had caught fire, after rolling over.

Home Motors personnel assisted Grape Creek VFD with extricating the driver and extinguishing the fire, with a fire extinguisher.

Only one vehicle and one person was involved. The driver did not sustain life threatening injuries, and was not transported by ambulance.

Multiple vehicle crashes continue to occur in Tom Green County due to the hazardous icy road conditions.

For obvious safety reasons, travel on the roadways during this winter weather event is highly discouraged.
