SAN ANGELO, TX – A vehicle flew of an icy roadway crashing Thursday morning in San Angelo causing the San Angelo Police Department to issue an alert urging drivers to avoid the area.
Reporters at the scene say it appears an elderly driver was assisted from the vehicle which ended up on its side along Ave. L near Metcalfe St.

There have been reports of dozens of crashes in the San Angelo area due to icy conditions.
According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, weather conditions will not improve today.
Motorists are urged to stay off area roadways.
