Abilene Man Killed In Head-On Crash

 

ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Police Department has confirmed an Abilene man was killed in an early morning head-on crash.

According to law enforcement, 46-year-old Mutagaa Smith was traveling north on Hwy 36 in a white Mazda sedan.

Smith then swerved onto oncoming traffic. Witnesses told law enforcement Smith missed one vehicle before crashing head-on with a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck.

Firefighters had to extricate Smith and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

He ultimately succumbed to his injuries while at the hospital.

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup only sustained minor injuries and was released at the scene.
