Lavaca County Deputy Dies After Motorcycle Crash

 

HALLETTSVILLE, TX – The Lavaca County Sheriff's Office has confirmed a 24-year-old deputy died as a result of the injuries he suffered in a motorcycle crash.

According to LCSO, Deputy Sheriff Dakota Moreno was in a motorcycle crash on Sunday night.

Moreno was airlifted to Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio for treatment.

According to the GoFundMe set up to help his family, Moreno spent nearly two days in a medically induced coma. 

He suffered several cardiac arrests until he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Moreno had been employed by the Lavaca County Sheriff's Office for almost three years as a jailer and patrol deputy.
