Motorcyclist Killed In Fatal Crash

 

CLYDE, TX – Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety have confirmed a 67-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a fatal crash near Clyde Monday.

According to DPS, 82-year-old George F. Walker was traveling south on FM 603 in a 2001 Ford pickup on the improved shoulder.  

Traveling behind Walker was Phillip W. Elkins in his 2013 Harley Davidson. 

Elkins attempted to pass Walker by moving into the northbound lane. While Elkins was passing the pickup, Walker turned left on a private drive and struck the motorcycle.

Elkins was transported to Hendrick Medical Center North in Abilene where he was pronounced dead.  Walker was not injured in the crash.

Both men are residents of Clyde, TX.

According to DPS, the weather and road conditions were clear and dry.
