Watch: Speeding Kia Takes Down Power Pole

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A single vehicle crash downed  a utility pole causing the diversion of traffic on Glenna St. just before the lunch hour rush.

According to Officer Welch of the SAPD,  a Kia Forte was traveling south on Glenna when it failed to control its speed.

This caused the Forte to run off the roadway and hit an AEP powerline. The impact caused the pole to snap in half and end up in the roadway.

The driver of the Forte was not injured, but she was cited for failure to control speed and failure to display driver's license.

Traffic was until an AEP crew could repair the live wire on the roadway and replace the pole.
