Motorist Killed After Fleeing From Law Enforcement

 

ABILENE, TX -- The Abilene Police Department has confirmed a motorist is dead after leading police on a pursuit on Thursday afternoon.

According to APD, 31-year-old James Rowdy Stone was being pursued by an unmarked vehicle of Taylor County Law Enforcement through north Abilene.

The unmarked unit stopped the pursuit near Grape Street while Stone attempted to pass a pickup truck that was turning onto Jameson St.

The motorcycle collided with the truck sending the rider onto the pavement. 

 Stone was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
