Passenger Trapped in Car in Scary Crash at Busy Intersection

SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Police Department traffic division officers and emergency medical personnel responded to a major crash Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Ave L and S. Bryant Blvd.

Initial scanner reports indicated one of the passengers was trapped in the vehicle.

According to Officer Long of SAPD, the crash occurred between a white Lincoln SUV and a black Chevy Montecarlo.

The Montecarlo was traveling southbound on Bryant when it attempted to make a left turn onto Ave L.

The driver of the Montecarlo failed to yield the right-of-way and crashed with the Lincoln SUV that was traveling northbound on Bryant Blvd.

The passenger of the Montecarlo was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and the driver was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.

Officer Long confirmed at least one of the doors had to be cut to allow access to the passengers.
