High Speed Chase Ends with Roll Over Near Elementary School

ODESSA, TX – An Odessa homeowner was uninjured Sunday afternoon after a car rolled into his backyard while fleeing from the police.

According to CBS7, on September 13, officers with the Odessa Police Department were dispatched to the Casa Ole for the report of a problem but before they could arrive, the driver of a Dodge Challenger fled the scene.

Shortly after the chase began, the Challenger crashed into a vehicle near University and Grandview. The chase continued traveling at dangerous high speeds.

Then near Burnet Elementary on Maple Avenue, the driver lost control, rolled into a cement fence, then a metal fence, and then came to a stop on it's side in the backyard of an Odessa homeowners house.

The driver then hopped out of the car and tried to keep the chase going. Fortunately the man did not get very far and was caught at the corner of Century Avenue and Permian Drive.

Police said there are no serious injuries in either accident, and it isn’t known whether the driver was impaired. The name of the suspect has not been released at this time.
