Texas Judge Killed by Drunk Driver

 

ROYCE CITY, TX – A Judge on Texas’ 5th District Court of Appeals was killed Saturday after his vehicle was struck by a wrong way drunk driver. 

According to the Texas GOP, on July 25, 65-year-old Justice David Bridges was killed by a drunk driver on I-30 in Royce City near FM 2642. 

Royce City Police claim that 32-year-old Megan Smith of Royse City was driving the wrong way and crashed into two vehicles. 

Bridges' vehicle was on fire when officers arrived on scene. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

The other driver was not injured in the crash. 

Smith was transported to the local hospital and treated for minor injuries before being booked into the Hunt County Jail for intoxicated manslaughter. She has a previous driving while intoxicated.
