Three Killed in Horrific Head-on Crash

 

GORMAN, TX – The Department of Public Safety has confirmed the death of three people involved in a wrong-way crash on SH-6 around 5 p.m. Tuesday, three miles south of Gorman.

According to KTXS, Selena Hernandez, 20, of Hico, Everardo Palacios, 19, of Conroe, Bertha Gloria Muniz, 20, of Hico, and Eric Arthur Jason Martinez, 21, of Hico, were traveling east in a BMW when a Chevrolet Cruze traveling west veered into their lane.

The BMW crossed into the westbound lane to avoid colliding with the Cruze, but the Cruze then veered back into the westbound and crashed into the BMW.

Palacios, Muniz, and Martinez were killed in the crash, while the driver, Hernandez, was transported to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene with serious/incapacitating injuries.

The driver of the Cruze, 20-year-old Colby Wade Stange of Orange, was transported to Comanche County Medical Center with stable/incapacitating injuries.

According to DPS, Stange, Hernandez, and Palacios were wearing seatbealts at the time of the crash; Muniz and Martinez wre not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
