Polaris Slingshot Driver Killed in Crash on Rain Soaked Highway

 

SNYDER, TX – The driver of a three wheel open-air roadster motorcycle was killed in a crash on a wet and rainy highway outside Snyder, TX Wednesday.

According to information from Texas Department of Public Safety trooper Sgt. Fred Biddle, 48-year-old Charles Surgin Gardner of Glenn Heights, TX was traveling West on US-180 five miles west of Snyder in a 2017 Polaris Slingshot while in the rain and wet road conditions.  The vehicle hydroplaned and slid off the South side of the roadway, through a barrow ditch, and fence. 

Gardner was wearing a seatbelt.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
