DPS: Passenger Killed in Crash With Horse

 

ODESSA, TX – Texas Department of Public Safety investigators confirmed Monday a driver heading south on Highway 385 in Ector County, hit a horse in the middle of the road just before 5:00 a.m.

The crash killed the passenger who was later identified as 45-year-old Maria Muniz De Maria.

Investigators say the driver attempted to swerve in order to miss the horse, but unfortunately didn't make it.

After further investigation DPS troopers were able to confirm De Maria was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
