Ozona Man Killed After Being Struck by Truck

 

OZONA, TX – A 69-year-old man was stuck and killed by a truck in Ozona Tuesday morning. 

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on Mar. 24 at around 7:30 a.m., troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety were dispatched to the intersection of Avenue J and Avenue K for the report of a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle. 

When the troopers arrived they found an elderly man who was struck by a 2019 Dodge Ram Pickup. The man was identified as Juan Esparza of Ozona. 

Esparza suffered serious bodily injury and was later pronounced dead at the Ozona Family Health Center. 

The driver of the pickup claims that that he did not see the man because the sun was in his eyes.
