SAN ANGELO, TX — Just before 2 a.m., a single vehicle crashed into a utility pole at a high rate of speed at the intersection of Oakes St. and E. 12th St.

The utility pole carried electricity lines based upon the number of AEP crews and trucks seen repairing the sheered pole and power lines attached.

Police were still notifying next-of-kin so they were hesitant to confirm a fatality. They said to expect more information Saturday morning. It may have been a pedestrian involved.

Brian Castillo, 29, was booked into the Tom Green County Jail charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle at 5:38 a.m. He is being held with no bond.
