SAN ANGELO, TX – Shortly before 11:00 a.m. on New Year’s Day San Angelo Police Department’s Traffic Division responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Grand Canal Rd and Hwy 277.
According to the responding officer, a gray Lexus was traveling eastbound on Canal Rd at the same time a Chevy Malibu was traveling northbound on Hwy 277.

Based on the statements provided to police the Lexus made it onto the first lane of Hwy 277 and the driver of the Chevy Malibu thought they were going to keep crossing so she made an evasive action to avoid a collision. This made her vehicle leave the roadway and she struck a light pole.
There were no injuries and citations are currently pending.
