SAN ANGELO, TX — A single car crash has taken out power, cable and Internet around the crash scene on Paint Rock Road.
A two-door sedan ran off Paint Rock Road at High Butte Dr. Witnesses said the car crashed through a cinder block fence, took out one utility pole, and ran down another fence line before slamming into a house.
Power, along with cable television and Internet, has been in and out since the crash happened at 9:30 p.m. AEP crews were seen not only attempting to secure the pole hit by a car, but are also working on taking down and replacing an adjacent utility pole.
Estimates from crews at the scene are that power should be restored soon. Cable and Internet will take some additional time, well after midnight. Once a new pole is installed, the cable will be back up.
WATCH the crash scene:
Witnesses at the scene said they heard that the driver, who was driving eastbound on Paint Rock Road, told authorities he dozed off before the crash. He was rushed to Shannon Medical Center.
The westbound lanes of Paint Rock Road are closed until AEP and Suddenlink crews are finished with the repairs estimated to happen well after midnight.
Comments
Everyone who was affected by his ignorance with the loss of power and cable services, should band together and file a class action lawsuit demanding that he pay each victim, a full months service charge to AEP and Suddenlink for their loss during the time they were without service..... That alone would cost him several thousands of dollars for his stupidity of driving while exhausted......
