Truck Goes Up in Flames on Houston Harte

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Just before 1:30 p.m. San Angelo Police Department and San Angelo Fire Department responded to a call regarding an 18-wheeler on fire. 

When firefighters arrived on the scene they observed an 18-wheeler that had a truck loaded up. The truck’s engine was fully engulfed in flames and the back wheels on the 18-wheeler had “started popping” according to Lieutenant Kevin Walker, of the San Angelo Fire Department.

Several calls were made to emergency services regarding the explosions and it turned out to be the wheels popping as a result of the fire.

Firefighters worked on putting out the fire on the truck and then the tires on the 18-wheeler.

Two workers were present at the scene, but they were unharmed. It appears that as they were loading the truck onto the 18-wheeler and had a “mishap.” The truck was being transported to be serviced.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
