Driver Disregards Red Light Sending Truck into Ditch on Thanksgiving

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The first Thanksgiving crash occurred just in time for lunch. 

According to Officer Younts with the San Angelo Police Department's Traffic Division, on November 28, he was dispatched to the intersection of Sherwood Way and FM-2288 for the report of a major motor vehicle accident. 

When he arrived, the officer found a Red Toyota that was parked on the sidewalk of the roadway and a Blue Toyota pick-up that was in the ditch.

After further investigation, the officer determined that the Red car was traveling North on Southland heading onto FM-2288. The Toyota pick-up was traveling west on Sherwood disregarded the red light and collided with the car. 

There were no injuries reported and the driver of the truck was issued a citation for failure to stop at a red light.
