7,000 Acre Wildfire Extinguished 20 Hours Later

CROCKETT CO, TX -- The Texas A&M Forest Service responded to a wildfire yesterday.

According to the TAMFS, on August 6 they were dispatched to highway 190 to assist in putting out a wildfire that was approximately 500 acres.

When they arrived crews began attempting to contain the fire but it only grew. Two hours in to the operation the fire was around 750 acres and then spread to approximately 7,000 acres.

TAMFS says they have the fire 85% contained.

As of now no injuries were reported due to the fire.

This is a developing story.
