WATCH: Rav-4 Driver Violates Left Turn Only Lane’s Simple Mandate, Crash Ensues

 

SAN ANGELO TX — One person was rushed to the hospital after two vehicles collided on Sherwood Way at the service road to Loop 306.

According to San Angelo police, the driver of a Toyota Rav-4 positioned her vehicle in the left turn only lane to turn southeast bound on the Loop 306 access road. To her right was a woman driving a Lincoln MKZ in a lane where the driver can decide to turn left or continue straight-ahead.

The Toyota driver elected to proceed straight ahead and not turn left despite the lane being marked “Left Turn Only.” The Lincoln driver, in the lane to the Rav-4’s right was turning left. The Lincoln collided with the Rav-4.

The Rav-4 driver was cited for incorrect use of a left-turn-only lane. The driver of the Lincoln was transported via ambulance to an area hospital with minor injuries.
