UPDATE: WATCH: Possible Tornado Damage at Boys Ranch; Command Post Setup at Bradford Elementary

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Reports of widespread storm damage, possibly from tornadoes, has been reported Saturday morning in Tom Green County as a severe storm system dumped hail, high winds and torrential rain. 

Preliminary indications are a possible tornado touched down on FM 2335 near Foster Park in the Dove Creek area causing damage all the way to Boys Ranch.  Reporters on the scene say there is extensive damage to buildings at the boys ranch and there is a power line and power poles down for about a half mile along FM 2335. 

Tree limbs are down all over San Angelo especially in the area of Angelo State University.

A tree fell on a residence on E.26th St. causing a building collapse but no injuries were reported.  

There was a report of another building collapse at an apartment complex on Irving St. and there were no reported injuries. 

Police and Firefighters have responded to several calls of structure fires but as of 7 a.m.they reportedly were only downed power lines sparking. 

There is a report of a vehicle swept away on Southwest Blvd. by McDonalds and vehicles submerged on Jackson St. by ASU.

Firefighters have a command post set up at Bradford Elementary and a shelter open at Goliad Elementary School.

This is a developing situation.
