SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Police were kept busy after a pair of three-car wrecks brought traffic to a screeching halt in the 5500 block of Sherwood Way Thursday afternoon.
According to police, the blue and silver Chevy Silverado was westbound on Sherwood, attempting to make a left turn into the Walmart parking lot. When it entered the intersection, a newer model Silverado hit it on the passenger side and the newer Chevy was forced into a Ford Expedition traveling in the far right-hand lane.
One person had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. The driver of the blue Silverado was cited for failure to yield right of way.
While officers were wrapping up their investigation, a second three-car pileup occurred in the westbound lanes of the same block of Sherwood Way and our reporter on scene witnessed the crash.
With traffic slowing down, it appeared a white Ford Ranger failed to slow down in time with the backed up traffic. The Ford hit a Honda SUV which then struck a Chevy Suburban.
Nobody appeared injured on the scene and everybody was out of their cars talking to each other.
