Police: Man Arrested After Abandoning Woman Inside Flaming Car After Fiery Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Details are starting to come out following a fiery crash on Rio Concho Dr. on Saturday.

Police have arrested Casey Paul Jurgens, 31, after they say he drunkenly crashed his car in the 600 block of Rio Concho and fled the scene. The crash left his 30-year-old female passenger with serious injuries.

Watch: The burned-out hull of the car getting towed off.

When we arrived, the car, seen in the video and photo, appeared it had caught fire. We have reached out to the police, but they have not released information about the woman who was purportedly abandoned inside the burning car after Jurgens ran.

The San Angelo Police Department said Jurgens was located in a nearby apartment complex and arrested after a short chase on foot.

Jurgens is charged with intoxication assault with a vehicle which causes serious bodily injury, evading arrest and driving without a driver's license. Jurgens is currently in the Tom Green County Jail on a $15,944 bond.
