Driver Escapes Injury in Rollover Crash at new H-E-B Gas Pumps

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The driver of a car ended up upside down by the gas pumps at the new H-E-B in the 5500 block of Sherwood Way Friday night.

Reporters on the scene are waiting on San Angelo Police officers to explain how the crash happened.

It appears a four door passenger care somehow rolled over in the private parking lot near the gas pumps at the new H-E-B on Sherwood Way.

No information is available at this time about injuries or citations.

This is a developing story.

UPDATE: 10:27 p.m.

San Angelo Police Officers at the scene say the driver was distracted, hit a pole and flipped his car in the parking lot.

According to the investigating officer, alcohol was not a factor, no citations were issued and no one was injured.

Alcohol was not a factor, nor was having a brain a factor..... At least being blitzed on alcohol would have been an understandable excuse.....

How fast was this idiot driving in the parking lot to end up in an upside down position? Distracted by texting on his cell phone maybe. Good thing that pole wasn't some individual walking along the parking lot. No citation given, good call SAPD. Let's give him another chance since he didn't kill anyone this time!
