Suspicious Fire Destroys Abandoned Mobile Home in North San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A single-wide mobile home was destroyed by fire Sunday afternoon. 

According to scanner reports, firefighters were called to 67 Sage Ln. just before 1 p.m. Sunday for a structure fire. 

Firefighters from Quail Valley and Grape Creek arrived first to find the mobile home fully engulfed in flames.  

They called for additional units. 

Scanner reports indicate firefighters evacuated residents on Sage and Cinnamon Lanes. 

This is a developing story.  We will update it when new information becomes available. 

UPDATE:  2:45 p.m.

Volunteer firefighters from Grape Creek, Quail Valley and Carlsbad joined Tom Green County Sheriff's deputies investigating the fire.  

The mobile home was a total loss and hand been abandoned for some time.   

The fire is being investigated as 'very suspicious in nature.'  

Firefighters worked to protect the surrounding homes and evacuated the area.  Residents were allowed back in their homes Sunday afternoon.
