SAN ANGELO, TX -- Two crashes Thursday morning snarled traffic on Loop 306 near Howard St.
A two car crash on Loop 306 near Howard St. sent one driver to the hospital Thursday morning.
According to San Angelo Police Department investigating officer Brian Bylsma, in the first crash the female driver of a Chrysler 300 wasn't able to get out of her car because it was up on a 'jersey barrier.'
The driver of the Honda complained about neck pain. Both drivers refused to go to the hospital by ambulance.
Both vehicles were westbound in the right lane when traffic in front of them began to slow down. The drivers attempted to change lanes at the same time.
The vehicles collided and the momentum sent the vehicles in opposite directions.
Bylsma says the driver of the Chrysler was issued a citation for driving while license invalid and the driver of the Honda was issued citations for no insurance and no driver's license.
Another crash occurred further up the roadway.
SAPD officer Welch investigated the second accident. Welch says a red four door car and a gray car. The gray car was slowing down because of the first accident.
The red car hit the gray car from behind and pushed it off the road and the red car hit the gray car a second time in the ditch.
The red car ran into the wall and the gray car went up the embankment. The driver of the gray car was transported to San Angelo Community Medical Center.
The driver of the red car was cited for failure to control speed causing the crash and driving while her license was expired.
