Drivers Escape Injury in 18-wheeler Crash in Downtown San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX -- An 18-wheeler hauling sand crashed into a black Chrysler 200 at the intersection of Beauregard and Abe Wednesday morning slowing traffic at the busy downtown intersection.

According to investigating San Angelo Police Officer Quade, the Chrysler had a green light and was westbound on Beauregard.

Quade said at the scene that witnesses say the sand hauler was southbound on Bryant Blvd. going too fast and ran the red light.

The driver of the sand hauler tried to turn right onto Beauregard to avoid the crash but ran into the Chrysler.

No injuries were reported.  The driver of the sand hauler will be cited for failure to yield the right of way.
