Another Grisly Crash at Dangerous Intersection on U.S. 87 Near Vancourt

VANCOURT, TX-- A Chevrolet Suburban crashed in a construction zone at a troubled stretch of U.S. 87 near Vancourt Wednesday afternoon sending at least one person with head injuries to the hospital.

The horrific crash was near the intersection of U.S. 87 and Jones Rd. in Vancourt where at least one fatal crash has happened already this year.

See the photos above.

The crash happened just after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday near the intersection of Jones Rd. and U.S. 87.

We know that stretch of U.S. 87 has recently undergone construction to repave the roads.

According to our reporter on scene, the crash appeared to involve one vehicle. The Suburban left the roadway before apparently rolling and striking a tree.

Our reporter on scene saw AirMed 1 leave the scene. There is no official word on how many were injured or the extent of their injuries.

The original call on the scanner said the crash involved entrapment..

The Wall Volunteer Fire Department, Tom Green County Sheriff's Deputies and DPS Troopers worked the scene.

DPS Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.

We will update this story as information becomes available.
