Man Killed in Hit and Run Crash

 

SWEETWATER, TX -- The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal hit and run crash in Sweetwater early Halloween morning. 

According to DPS Trooper Sgt. Fred Biddle, 29-year-old William Lee Dewberry of San Diego, CA was walking in Sweetwater along the westbound lanes of I-20 around 1 a.m. Oct. 31 when he was struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle. 

Trooper Biddle says the vehicle was also westbound may be a commercial vehicle.  

The driver of the vehicle did not stop. 

Dewberry was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. 

This is an ongoing investigation.
