Driver Ejected in Fatal Mitchell County Crash

WESTBROOK, TX-- A truck driver is dead following a two-vehicle crash on I-20 in Mitchell County on Wednesday.

Jon David Woody, 60, of Breckenridge, was traveling west in his Peterbilt on the interstate in the rain when an eastbound 2018 Dodge Ram lost control and crossed the median, according to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The Dodge then crashed into Woody, sending him off the roll. The 18-wheeler then rolled and ejected Woody, who was not wearing a seatbelt.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge was transported to the Mitchell County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
