Turning Chrysler Slams into School Bus

SAN ANGELO, TX-- A school bus carrying six teenage kids was involved in a two-car accident Tuesday evening.

Officer Welch with the San Angelo Police Department's Traffic Division said a Chrysler 200 was northbound around the 1700 block of S. Oakes St. when "it decided to make a left turn at the last minute." The Chrysler made that turn in front of the school bus, causing the wreck.

The driver of the Chrysler was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. Officer Welch said it appeared they had no serious injuries.

The six kids on the bus were ok, according to Welch. There was significant damage to the bus, as well.

The driver of the Chrysler will be issued a citation for failure to yield right of way.
