Pickup Crashes into Shannon Medical Center Parking Lot

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The driver of a pickup apparently lost control of his vehicle, jumped a curb, hit a power pole and crashed into three parked cars in the Shannon Medical Center parking lot Wednesday morning.

San Angelo Police Department investigating officer Welch says the driver may have had a medical issue possibly a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. 

Officer Welch says the driver called his family and said he was having chest pains and was driving himself to the hospital when the crash occurred. 

Officials at the scene are still investigating the crash near the intersection of Harris Ave. and Magdalen on the corner between Shannon Women's and Children's Center and Shannon Medical Center. 

Police have blocked off the street and AEP crews are on the scene repairing a downed power line.  

No word yet on the condition of the driver or if he will be issued a citation.
