SAN ANGELO, TX -- A FedEx driver was sent to the hospital Wednesday morning after his van was rear ended on S. Chadourne as he was attempting to turn left onto Ave. R.
According to San Angelo Police Department investigating officer Bylsma, the driver of the FedEx van was stopped on S. Chadbourne with his turn signal on attempting to turn left.
The driver of a 2009 maroon Honda Accord told officer Bylsma she was "on autopilot doing a lot of other things" and slammed on her brakes when she realized the van was stopped.
The Accord slammed into the back of the FedEx van. The driver of the FedEx Van was transported via ambulance to San Angelo Community Medical Center complaining of back pain.
The driver of the Accord suffered a 'fat lip' from the airbag according to officer Bylsma.
The Accord driver was issued a citation for failure to control speed.

A reason is given for an accident. People need to realize that driving is not the time to make your grocery list or catch up on your email. You are piloting a few thousand pounds of metal (well, plastic too) around people, other cars and property. Pay attention people!!
