Driverless Car Crashes Into Apartment Complex Wall

SAN ANGELO, TX -- An unoccupied vehicle crashed into an apartment complex wall Tuesday afternoon leaving Police scratching their heads about what happened.

San Angelo Police Investigating Officer Welch said at the scene the driver of a white four door car had stopped at the Allsup’s Convenience Store on the corner of Glenna Dr. and Arden Rd.

He came out of the store and got back into his vehicle. Welch says at that point he had a medical issue of some kind and got out of the vehicle, which was still in drive.

The driverless vehicle crossed Arden Rd. and crashed into the wall of the Arden Ridge Apartments, then continued down the street coming to rest a block away.

The driver was transported to Shannon Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of his medical condition.  No other vehicles were involved and no one was injured in the crash.
