Woman Disregards Stop Sign in Southland and Crashes into Chrysler Blocking Traffic

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- An elderly San Angelo woman driving a 2017 Buick Enclave disregarded the stop sign at Southland and Oak Grove Blvd. Tuesday morning and crashed into an oncoming 2012 Chrysler.

According to San Angelo Police Department Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez at the scene, the Chrysler was eastbound on Southland Blvd. when the driver of the Enclave disregarded the stop sign, entered the intersection and caused the crash. The Chrylser wound up in the yard of the house on the corner.

SAPD officers blocked all traffic on Southland while the crash was investigated and the vehicles were removed.  

Gonzalez says the driver of the Enclave was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.  The driver of the Chrysler was taken by private vehicle. Both were reported to have suffered minor, non-incapacitating injuries in the crash.

The driver of the Enclave will be issued a summons for disregarding the stop sign according to Gonzalez.
