Structural Collapse Closes Downtown Businesses, Part of Chadbourne

SAN ANGELO, TX-- A roof collapse at the popular Fuentes Downtown Cafe and The Man Shop on Chadbourne has halted business.

Emergency personnel responded to the collapse mid-morning on Sunday. There has been no word on injuries or the cause of the collapse.

John Fuentes, owner of Fuentes Downtown Cafe said he and his staff were cooking food for a meeting with the City of San Angelo at the time of the collapse.

“We heard a loud boom,” Fuentes said. “Next thing we know, we see smoke coming out of the front dining room and we noticed the wall had collapsed.”

The Man Shop also suffered damage to their wall, which connects to Fuentes.

Both businesses will have to remain closed until they can make repairs.

The two southbound lanes of Chadbourne will remained closed as crews assess the damage, according to fire inspector Brent Donaho.

So who owes who a new building ? Michael Strain or John Fuentes ? Ones a victim of the others neglect, so when do we find out the answer to this mystery ?

Based on the picture, as it's the wall of the top story of The Man Store that collapsed, I say owners of The Man Store are responsible.

1st; It was called The Man Store. Not Shop.
2nd; The Man Store has been closed down and out of business for almost two years now. Saying it will 'remain closed' until they make repairs is rather misleading sounding, don't you think?
