Woman Flown to Hospital after Flipping her Car, Hitting Barbed Wire near Merkel

MERKEL, TX-- KTXS reports a woman had to be air-lifted to the hospital after a rollover crash near Merkel on Thursday.

The Texas Department of Public Safety told KTXS the woman was on her way to pick up a kid from school in a 2009 Pontiac G6. She swerved to miss a rock and lost control of her vehicle on County Rd. 426.

Her vehicle then rolled and hit a barbed wire fence.

She was flown to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

Her name and condition were not released.

The crash is still under investigation by DPS.
