Crews Work Overnight to Put Out Chemical Fire in Ector County

 

GARDENDALE, TX-- A chemical fire broke out along Highway 158 near Gardendale overnight.

Pat Land, Odessa Fire Rescue Battalion Chief, told CBS 7 that nobody was injured in the fire at the Jacam Catalyst Oilfield Chemical Services building.

Land also told the station 20 vehicles, ranging from pickup trucks to 18-wheelers, were damaged in the fire.

Officials found 40 totes, 300 to 350 gallons, were destroyed in the fire and drum barrels were exposed to head, according to Land.

Crews from Midland Fire Department, Odessa Fire Department, Gardendale Volunteer Fire Department and the Goldsmith Volunteer Fire Department worked through the night to put out the fire.
