Second Collapse at Irving Parking Garage Damages More Vehicles

 

Updated 8/102018 8:00 a.m.  A second section of parking garage has collapsed in Irving.  

According to reports, the second section fell at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. 

No one was injured but some additional vehicles were damaged.  

Officials are still investigating the cause of the parking garage collapse. 

IRVING, TX -- A section of a parking garage collapsed Tuesday morning in Irving, TX damaging 21 vehicles.  

According to reports, firefighters responded to the scene at 11:30 a.m. where a 40 ft by 40 ft section of the structure collapsed, crashing down on the vehicles below. 

Authorities with the Irving Fire Department say the initial sweep found no one in any of the vehicles and no injuries.  

Officials say it may be a few days before they can reach all the damaged vehicles.  

No word yet on the cause of the collapse.
