Elderly Sorento Driver Rear Ends Parked Altima, Sending 2 to the Hospital

SAN ANGELO, TX-- A two-car accident shut down two lanes of traffic on South Abe on Wednesday.

Officer Welch with the San Angelo Police Department's Traffic Division said a Kia Sorento was traveling south in the far right-hand lane when the elderly Sorento driver rear-ended a parked Nissan Altima.

The right front tire of the Sorento struck the left rear tire of the Altima before spinning and trapping the Altima driver, according to Officer Welch.

The two people involved were transported by ambulance to Community Hospital without serious injuries.

The driver of the Sorento was cited for failure to control speed.
