Woman Killed in 2 Vehicle Crash North of Brownwood

BROWNWOOD, TX -- A 63-year-old Brownwood woman was killed in a two vehicle crash just north of Brownwood Tuesday.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Sgt. Fred Biddle, Judy Baker was the passenger in a 2009 Ford Explorer driven by 62-year-old Gary Baker.

The report says the Ford Explorer was traveling northwest on SH 279 and came to a stop at the intersection on SH 279 and CR 134 to make a left.  A 2016 Dodge pickup towing a trailer was traveling southeast on SH 279 approaching the intersection of CR 134 and US Hwy 279. The driver of the Explorer turned left in front of Dodge pickup and was struck on the right side.  All vehicles went off the West side of the road, caught fire, and burned.

Judy Baker was pronounced dead at the scene.

26-year-old Logan Allumbaugh was driving the Dodge pickup.  He was taken by ambulance to Brownwood Regional Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
